Things To Do
The town of Skibbereen is home to many thriving pubs & Restaurants, many of which feature traditional Irish Music, ballads, etc. Other towns and sites to visit, all within a twenty mile radius, include Rosscarbery, Union Hall, Glandore, Baltimore, Ballydehob, Schull, Bantry, while the Mizen Head, with its Visitor Centre, is the southernmost point of Ireland, and well worth a visit on a fine day.
Every Thursday afternoon, the Country Market operates from Abbeystrewry Parochial Hall, while on Saturday, the Skibbereen Farmers Market is held from 9.30am until 1.30pm at the Fairfield. Each provides an excellent range of food, crafts, bric-a-brac, etc. This is rural Ireland at its best. The cattle market is held on Fridays.
Please visit the Skibbereen website for more details of upcoming events & the surrounding area.
As a direct result of the COVID 19 pandemic, there are a number of arrangements that we need to have in place, to satisfy our legal obligations at this time. We want to make the check-in process as easy as possible for our guests, to ensure their safety and enjoyment while they stay in our home. If at all possible, can intending guests please let us have an approximate time, so we can endeavour to arrange that all guests don’t arrive at the same time? We would welcome guests between 4.30 pm and 8pm every day but we can facilitate a later check-in, if required. In addition, we will also need to collect full contact details for all our guests. This is required in the unlikely event that there is a need for contact tracing at any time in the future, due to the pandemic. We require names, addresses, Email addresses and telephone numbers for all guests. Thank you for assisting us with this information. It will be held in a secure place, and will be securely disposed of in due course.
We would also like to point out the following matters, which are of a temporary nature, until the virus emergency is past:
- Only take-away breakfasts will be provided.
- Check-out time is 10.30 am.
- Payment only be Credit/Debit Card and if this could be arranged prior to check-in, it would be greatly appreciated.
